Packaging labelling

In compliance with Legislative Decree No. 116 of 3 September 2020 and Law No. 15/2022 (Official Gazette No. 49 of 28/2/2022) converting Decree-Law No. 228/2021 (cf. Decreto Milleproroghe), as of 1 January 2023, it is envisaged that all packaging materials used shall be appropriately identified and labelled so that, through the methods established by the applicable UNI technical standards and in compliance with the determinations adopted by the Commission of the European Union, the collection, reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging is facilitated and correct information is provided to consumers on the final destinations of the same.

For the purpose of identifying and classifying packaging, producers must also indicate the nature of the packaging materials used, on the basis of Commission Decision 97/129/EC, in order to facilitate the collection of packaging placed on the market and disseminate information on disposal once it has fulfilled its function and become waste.
